Hi, I’m Kate Fleming

B Applied Science (Curtin University)
Post Grad Dip Dietetics (Curtin University)
I have over 25 years experience in the eating disorder and mental health arena. My work has primarily been in adult and adolescent private specialist eating disorder services, providing person-centred, individual nutrition counselling.
I have worked alongside clients with a wide range of eating disorder presentations with varying health complexities. I have a strong focus on providing compassionate, inclusive care drawing from an individuals beliefs, experiences and values.
I learn the most from the humans I work with. Integral to my practice is providing a weight neutral space, where the culture of dieting can be dismantled.
Areas of Interest
My special interest is working with:
People across the weight spectrum experiencing eating disorders
Recovery from life-long and chronic dieting
Trauma informed dietetic care for eating and body image concerns
Nourishing your body in a way that honours your neurotype, nervous system and mental health.
I’ll work closely with your healthcare team which may include your psychologist, psychiatrist, GP or family to make sure you’re receiving the most cohesive and appropriate care.
I offer in person sessions in West Perth or telehealth sessions where ever you are in Australia.

As a smaller-bodied, cis-, white, educated and neurotypical provider, I understand that I have had different, often easier, experiences navigating the world than many of my clients.
It’s important to me that I do my best to learn from and understand my clients’ lived experiences and how they differ from my own. I make missteps and am constantly learning. I commit to continuous learning and doing better.
If at any time during treatment, you would feel safer sharing a space with a provider who possesses identities similar to your own, I will happily connect you with some valued colleagues to support your care.
